Membership & Account Access
Focuses on the “how-to” of being a club member.
- How do I log in to the members area? Click Login at the top of the site. Use your Member ID as your username (not your email). If you’re a new member, use the ID emailed to you by the Membership Chair at memberships@montrealcameraclub.com
- How do I change my email or phone number? Under My Account, choose Edit Profile to update your contact information.
- I’ve forgotten my password. What should I do? Use the Reset Password link on the login page. Remember to use your Member ID to request the reset.
- Where do I find my Membership Card? Log in, hover over your name in the top right, and select My Account. Click View and Print Membership Card under Member Links. The membership card may be used for a discount at participating shops. See Resources> Learning-Education-Discounts
Competitions & Submissions
Technical requirements for your photographic entries.
- How do I submit images for competitions? Navigate to Login > Members Login > Image Submissions. Ensure your files are .jpg and follow the size/title rules.
- What are the accepted file types and sizes? Images must be .jpg in sRGB color space.
- Landscape WxH: Max 3840 x 2160 px
- Portrait WxH: (Less then 2160) x Max 2160 px
- Square WxH: 2160 x 2160 px
- Size: 8 MB maximum.
- Why should I avoid last-minute submissions? To avoid system timeouts or file errors. Early submission gives you time to troubleshoot if an upload fails.
- How do I know if my upload was successful? A confirmation dialog will appear. You can revisit the submissions page to delete or replace images until the deadline.
- Where can I find competition results? Go to Login > Members Login > Competition Results a few days after the competition results meeting.
Events & Club Resources
Finding out what’s happening and where the documents are.
- Where can I find upcoming meetings and events? Check the Calendar menu for workshops, speakers, and outings. The Home page also displays the next few events.
- Where are Club documents and Meeting recordings stored? Logged-in members can access Competition Results, Governance documents, Webex Recording and the Cameragrams under the Resources tab and submitted images by members under the Galleries tab. All documents and videos are stored via our secure Google Drive links.
- What are the rules for the Fall and Winter Challenges submissions? Challenge Themes are non-competitive submissions. Images must be your original work. Archived photos are allowed unless the specific theme requires fresh shots. Images submitted to a Challenge are permitted to be submitted to a Club competition. As some of these themes are used to possible CAPA submission it is important that all images are yours and that you follow the Competition Guidelines.
Website Help & Technical Issues
Troubleshooting and site performance.
- I can’t access a page or document. What should I do? Ensure you are logged in first. If the issue persists, email mccinfo@montrealcameraclub.com with the URL. A screenshot would be helpful.
- Can I view the site on my phone or tablet? Yes, the site is fully compatible with cell phones and tablets. Note that the location of the menus will be different from the ones seen on a desktop or laptop computer. Please report any display errors to the web team.
- Who do I contact for website help? Use the Contact page or email the administrator for login or technical issues. mccinfo@montrealcameraclub.com
Image Rights & Copyright
Protecting your creative work.
- If I share a photo in the Club gallery, who owns it? You do. The Club claims no ownership. By uploading, you grant us permission to display it internally for peer review per our Indemnity clause.
- Can the Club use my photos for Website or Social Media? When you join you agree to our Photo Release Authorization and Liability Waiver https://montrealcameraclub.com/join-renew/ unless you advise us not to use your images. Also note that one of your photos may be used on any page on our website. We do not post member images on any Social Media platforms e.g. Facebook or Instagram.
